Research is the foundation for everything I do. Whether I'm developing strategy, building a product or venture, or designing the systems that make an organization run, it all starts with getting the problem right before deciding how to solve it.
I've done this across a range of contexts. I co-founded a space startup, building it from the ground up while defining our strategic direction and closing a $10M seed round. I led research and ideation at an AI-focused venture studio, building the research infrastructure that powered our work, developing over 100 new product and venture concepts, and deciding which ones were worth pursuing. And I’m currently building an independent research platform for understanding and planning African safaris.
Across earlier roles in research and strategy, I translated complex data into insights that drove product launches, market entry decisions, and strategic priorities across industries. I consistently enter unfamiliar domains, build fluency quickly, and find the signal that matters.
I hold a PhD in entrepreneurial learning and conduct ongoing research on how entrepreneurs learn, adapt, and build ventures within complex, resource-constrained environments. I spent nearly a decade working across the African continent and remain actively engaged in the region through research, publication, and supervision of entrepreneurship-focused PhD and MBA students.
I am drawn to work where the impact extends beyond the organization: social enterprise, sustainable resources, conservation, education, healthcare, nonprofits. That orientation has driven my career choices, and continues to shape how I work.
